As urbanization accelerates globally, many cities are confronting the growing challenge of food insecurity. Urban food markets are key to ensuring people have access to fresh, seasonal, and diverse foods. Yet these often face significant challenges with food waste standing out as the most pressing issue. This session will convene representatives from cities across Africa, Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and the Americas to discuss practical approaches and proven strategies from policy changes and waste audits to better infrastructure and partnerships with food banks to reduce food waste in urban markets.
Please note: To accomodate varied time zones, two identical sessions will be hosted.
