Challenges And Approaches for Nature-Based Solution Projects in Informal Urban Areas

The event will look at informality and inequality in urban areas, with a focus on practical experiences from Brazil. The GIZ project “Cidade Presente – DUS” will share examples from its work, discuss key challenges and lessons learned.
During the project cycle, two Feasibility Studies for Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in informal urban areas were developed. This work is now expanding to 17 vulnerable territories through the implementation of NBS pilot initiatives and a community of practice, in collaboration with the National Secretariat for Peripheral Areas of the Ministry of Cities.
