How can cities unlock the funds they need for a sustainable future? As urbanization accelerates, cities face pressing challenges but remain key to achieving global goals. Cities may be home to more than half of the global population, but their share of available public financing remains below 5% in almost all partner countries. This discussion explores ways for cities to mobilize and manage resources—sometimes in conflict with national frameworks—to invest in resilient infrastructure, strengthen governance, and drive inclusive growth.
