In this episode of the ISCN Global Mixer we want to look at Decidim, a free and open source platform for digital citizen participation that initially emerged in Barcelona, one of the world’s “smartest cities”. It is used by hundreds of organizations on national and municipal level to enable new democratic processes for and with citizens. Even after nearly a decade of existence it boasts a lively and collaborative community that keeps developing new features and updates – something many other public software projects seek as well. What can be learned from Decidim’s legacy and what are recent updates and emerging trends for digital citizen participation?
