Introducing the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities, scheduled for release in early 2027: The report will be the first of its kind to focus exclusively on cities. It will highlight cities both as hotspots of vulnerability and as powerhouses of solutions in the global response to climate change. This 1-hour-session will provide an overview of the process behind the report and its key themes.
In a panel discussion with IPCC Lead Authors and colleagues from GIZ, we will explore the significance of the report for international cooperation and development. Together, we will discuss the opportunities the report holds for policy, practice, and partnerships, and how we at GIZ can best prepare for its launch less than 2 years from now.
This event is GIZ-internal. To register GIZ-employees can contact jan.korte@giz.de
