High-level launch of the Urban Water Catalyst Initiative (UWCI): ‘Resilience through financial independence: enabling utilities to succeed’

Launch of the Urban Water Catalyst Initiative (UWCI) at high-level: The UWCI is a German-led global initiative sparking a paradigm shift in water sector financing for moving towards long-term support for water utilities to narrow the finance gap for SDG 6 (water & sanitation). Thereby, the EU-supported initiative promotes climate-resilient and socially inclusive urban WASH services by increasing operational and financial performance of water utilities and their access to infrastructure financing. The UWCI launch marks the beginning of the UWCI implementation through a turnaround facility.
