Launch & Exchange: Stories of Urban Change – Feminist Pathways to Cities for All

How can we make cities more inclusive, equitable and liveable for everyone? And what can we learn from those already putting feminist approaches into practice?

As part of Urban October at GIZ, we invite you to the launch of a new GIZ publication, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Bringing together the stories of ten women, the publication showcases how innovative urban development projects can create tangible change in people’s everyday lives.

But this event is about more than launching a publication. It is an opportunity to learn from the projects behind the stories and exchange experiences on what works in practice. Manon Mang, Head of Division at BMZ, and Tobias Wolfgarten, GIZ Gender Commissioner, will share their perspectives and insights, followed by contributions from three projects featured in the publication.

The projects will share their approaches, impacts and lessons learned, opening up an interactive discussion with participants. Together, we will explore what makes feminist urban development successful, what challenges projects encounter, what we can learn across different contexts, and how promising approaches can be taken further.

Join us to discover inspiring stories, exchange practical experiences and discuss how we can work towards cities that are more inclusive, equitable and liveable for everyone.
