Despite past strides, inequality and multidimensional poverty are rising globally, threatening human well-being, social cohesion, and democracy. Rapid urbanisation and diverse urban communities make addressing inequality one of the most pressing issues in urban spaces. This session aims to highlights inequality in urban spaces, particularly manifested in the distribution of real estate ownership/property and the access to housing. Together with speakers from Pathfinders and the Hub for Housing Justice we will dive deeply into the intersection between inequality, housing justice and informality, and discuss strategies for inclusive, equitable, and responsive urban development.
