The following map provides an overview of all projects of the BMZ on sustainable urban, mobility and circular economy. As a source for this overview, the BMZ’s overall portfolio was examined for urban projects in technical cooperation by applying the following criteria. The target group of the projects in the following overview is the urban population itself or a national/regional population with a high share of urbanisation.

The criteria of the BMZ partner structure in the urban field of action are partners with a direct mandate and management responsibility in the field of urban development or partners with mandates for urban services. The projects generally aim to implement measures at a national, regional and local level that focus on the development of urban areas or the implementation of physical measures in urban areas.
Therefore, only projects that are explicitly urban development projects, in terms of target group, partner structure and functional area, are to be understood as urban projects. In this regard only technical cooperation projects were taken into account, not financial cooperation projects.
