Digitalization is transforming our cities. When it comes to data processing, a key issue for smart cities is the transparency and accessibility of data and the underlying code. Open-source approaches can empower municipalities to shape their cities in a sovereign and adaptable way while avoiding dependencies.
The event will explore the principle of “Public money, public code” and Germany’s Open Code repository “Open CoDE” along with international examples. The speakers will discuss the importance of open-source solutions in creating sustainable, resilient, and innovative communities.
