Coalition for Sustainable Urban Development in the Amazon Region

Building Strategic Partnerships to Strengthen the Urban Agenda in the Brazilian Amazon 

The Coalition for Sustainable Urban Development of the Amazon (DUSA) is a network that aims to support and promote sustainable urban development in partnership with Amazonian municipalities, which play an essential role in conserving the largest tropical forest in the world. The objective of this event is to promote the DUSA Coalition and establish a strategic discussion space on the sustainable urban development agenda in the Amazon territory in order to mobilize the institutions to join the initiative and become partners of the agenda. 

Panel discussion 

The proposal is to present a panel discussion on the DUSA Coalition that will address the following topics: 

  1. How to ensure the prominence of Amazonian cities in discussions on sustainable urban development and climate change at COP 30; 
  2. The need to engage relevant actors operating in the Amazon territory to strategically contribute to the DUSA Coalition; 
  3. The importance of mobilizing partner institutions from the international community to join the DUSA Coalition and recognize the importance of the sustainable urban development agenda of Amazonian cities; 
  4. Presenting successful local experiences;
