London Climate Action Week 2024

London Climate Action Week (LCAW) harnesses the power of London for global climate action. The annual event brings together the city's world-leading array of climate professionals and communities. Now in its sixth year, LCAW creates space for participants to come together and find global solutions to climate change. This year’s programming will promote cooperation between key parts of the London climate ecosystem and improve the impact of London’s global climate action networks into the future. LCAW 2024 will showcase London as the leading city of how the whole of society can together shape and drive climate action.

European Urban Resilience Forum

The event brings together city representatives, experts, and stakeholders from local and regional institutions to discuss strategies, initiatives, and actions affiliating to climate change adaptation, disaster management, and the cultivation of urban resilience.

Urban Collaboration Platform Conference 2024 (UCP2024)

This year’s UCP Conference is hosted by the Asia Pacific Disaster Resilience Center (APDRC) with the support of the Korean Red Cross under the main theme "Advancing Local Climate Actions in Cities". Aim: bring together National Societies to exchange learning and share good practices on urban resilience programming and collaboration to advancing local climate action in Cities, looking preparedness especially towards heatwaves but also at urban response, especially in fragile context of conflict and violence (FCV) in urban areas. Worth to know:The recent partnership of IFRC with ICLEI formalized in the side event of COP28 in Dubai is also an opportunity to support National Society branches operating in cities in advancing urban community resilience programs. This and other global partnerships such as with MCR2030 and WWF will be used as leverage in engaging a collaborative discussion between National Societies and city governments

High-level Political Forum 2024

The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be held from Monday, 8 July, to Wednesday, 17 July 2024, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. This includes the three-day ministerial segment of the forum from Monday, 15 July, to Wednesday, 17 July 2024 as part of the High-level Segment of the Council. The last day of the High-level Segment of ECOSOC will be on Thursday, 18 July 2024. The theme will be "Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”. (A/DEC/77/553)

Daring Cities Virtual Forum

The Daring Cities’ offer for local and regional government policy advisors, planning officials, national government policy advisors, and other technical experts throughout August to October 2024 consists of a series of virtual offerings and training workshops, emphasizing the theme of addressing the climate emergency through integrated and holistic solutions. The Virtual Forum is dedicated to exploring interconnected factors such as food and nature, within urban policies to ensures comprehensive outcomes for society and the planet.

Innovate4Cities Conference
